LAUNCH  [COMPLETED]

  • Lead Pastor Search Team announced to church body.  Completed 8/20/2017
  • Lead Pastor Search Team chairman and secretary selected. Completed 8/23/2017
  • WCR family notified of team member selections and provided an excerpt from the Bylaws identifying the process. Completed 8/24/2017
  • Search team training session conducted by Dr. Ewart. Completed 8/27/2017
  • Lead Pastor Search Team weekly meetings began. Completed 9/6/2017

WCR PRAYER INITIATIVE  [COMPLETED]

  • Create a Prayer Guide for the church that will involve every family in the process of seeking our next Lead Pastor. Completed 9/10/2017

REQUEST FOR RESUMES  [COMPLETED]

  • Create and post an announcement, utilizing several online resources, requesting applicants interested in the Lead Pastor position to submit resumes. Completed 9/25/2017
  • Develop a clear and concise plan for providing additional information to those interested in applying for the Lead Pastor position, as well as for updates and progress reports for the WCR church family via the WCR website. Completed 10/2/2017
  • Receiving Resumes from potential candidates until October 25th.  Completed October 25th.

DETERMINE FINALISTS  [ONGOING]

  • Conduct initial review to eliminate candidates with insufficient or marginal qualifications
  • Prioritize remaining candidates
  • Determine the structure of the process for contacting and interacting with candidates
  • Finalize questionnaires for both the candidates and references 

INTERVIEWS

  • Narrow candidate list to acceptable candidates and contact them with questionnaires 
  • Conduct “live” interviews followed by sending questionnaires to those identified as references
  • Select primary candidate
  • Personnel Committee negotiations with the candidate

 INTRODUCTION TO WCR CHURCH FAMILY

  • Primary candidate visits WCR and is interviewed and affirmed by other leadership groups per the Bylaws (Stewardship Oversight Committee, the Ministries Oversight Committee, and the Deacon Body).
  • Candidate interacts with the congregation during a weekend experience, which may include meals with leadership groups, fellowship events, testimony and Q&A session, and filling the pulpit in the Sunday services.
  • WCR family votes as defined by the Bylaws.
