What is MOPS?
Are You the Mother of a Preschooler?
Do you have these symptoms?
* Think spaghetti is a finger food?
* Sleep “like a baby?” up at 12, 2 and 4?
* Write your grocery list in crayon?
* Say “bye-bye” to everyone?
If your answer is “Yes!” then be aware, you may have…MOPS Syndrome!
Need a sure cure? Attend a MOPS meeting! (relief is usually immediate!)
MOPS is a group for Mothers Of Preschoolers, which provides an open, accepting atmosphere where the specific and significant needs of today's mothers of preschoolers are addressed; including friendship, tips on child-rearing, marriage, managing your home, and your personal life - physically, emotionally and spiritually!
The years of raising preschoolers offer that odd combination of pure fulfillment and utter frustration! In this high stress period of a mother's life, she goes through a wide range of emotions: joy, excitement, isolation, loneliness and exhaustion! These feelings can occur especially with relocation, job changes, and becoming a first-time mom. What's a mother to do? Come to a MOPS meeting!
A typical MOPS morning includes:
* FOOD (You don't need to feed anyone but yourself!)
* ADULT CONVERSATION (And it's uninterrupted! Aaaahhhh....)
* INSTRUCTION (Relevant topics for this unique season of life!)
* CREATIVE ACTIVITIES (Time to start AND finish a fun project!)
MOPS also provides loving, quality care for your newborn to kindergarten age child through MOPPETS, which is a preschool-like setting offering crafts, music, story time, and snack time. Each classroom has two teachers to love, teach, and care for your child on MOPS mornings.
MOPS of Wake Cross Roads meets on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month during the traditional school year from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church. There is a one-time registration fee (part of which connects you with great benefits from MOPS International) and a dues fee for each meeting to cover operational costs. Space is limited, so register soon!
