Position Title:                       Part-time Children’s Director

Reports To:                           Executive Pastor

Principle Function

 

Plan, administer, coordinate, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive and active Children/Family Ministry at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.

 

General List of Responsibilities

 

  • Lead Children’s ministry Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings (AWANA), and summer programming for children/families (VBS, etc.)
  • Identify the spiritual needs of children within the church family and larger community to which the church ministers.
  • Assess the effectiveness of ministry activities and programs and make revisions as needed. This ministry will align to the broader ministry plan of WCR.
  • Ensure that all children’s educational ministries are giving biblical instruction in agreement with the mission and philosophy of WCR.
  • Host/conduct training opportunities for workers of the children’s ministry.
  • Coordinate recruiting, screening and training of all children workers.
  • Ensure that all children workers (paid or volunteer) understand and adhere to the Prevention of Child and Youth Abuse Policy.
  • Collaborate with Executive Pastor in planning and preparing an annual budget for the children’s ministry
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Part-Time Office Administrator

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title:                Office Administrator

Status:                          Part-time hourly (Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, 1 hour lunch).

Reports To:                   Executive Pastor

Date Prepared/Revised: February 22, 2021

 

Specific List of Responsibilities

 

Office Management:

 

  • Schedule all facility use as it relates to ongoing ministry and general facility usage.
  • Coordinate reception volunteers.
  • Maintain Calendar Request forms highlighting details of various ministry activities.
  • Maintain calendar on Microsoft Outlook and coordinating with Communications Director.
  • Set up online registration for events and activities using Planning Center.

 

Ministry and Finance Support

 

  • Manage Planning Center member records in People, Groups, Registrations, Check-ins, and Calendar.
  • Enter vendor invoices to financial management software (QuickBooks).
  • Mail vendor payments and make bank deposits.
  • Record and maintain member giving records.
  • Prepare and print Sunday morning bulletin and Wednesday night Bible study notes.
  • Order Lifeway magazines and various publications for membership (quarterly).

 

Miscellaneous:

 

  • Primary phone-answering responsibility.
  • Directing “traffic” of members, vendors, tenants, groups etc.
  • Managing front door remote opening when no one is at Main Entrance Desk.
  • Using electronic postage meter, copier, and folding machine.
  • Ordering office supplies in coordination with other office staff.
  • Weekly distribution of Guest Information from previous Sunday, prayer requests, etc.
  • Keeping Hospital “whiteboard” up to date.

 

Special Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Must display a kind and hospitable attitude in person and on the phone
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Publisher strongly encouraged
  • Display an ability to learn new software and programs
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task

Part-Time Communications Director

 

Status:                         Part-time hourly

Reports to:                  Executive Pastor

Date Prepared:            February 22, 2021

 

Job Overview:  To direct and lead in the production of all printed and electronic publications including websites, emails, social media, advertising and promotions for Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church and all ministries of the Church.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with Office Administrator to maximize the use of WCR’s church management software (Planning Center).
  • Manage and develop website communication 
  • Govern all print and digital communication to ensure church brand consistency
  • Develop and oversee a strategy for social media channels 
  • Create and constantly fine-tune a process to collect visitor information 
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for holiday services (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, etc.)
  • Manage the use or creation of graphic design assets for all communication 
  • Create an inviting and positive experience for online visitors 

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • Excellent verbal, written, creative, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Experience in web content design and management
