Discipleship
Discipleship
At Wake Cross Roads, we do not believe that discipleship is a ministry in the church, but is the ministry of the church. Some may consider that subtle difference just word play, but we believe it is significant. Disciple-making is not another activity competing for space on the church calendar, but rather it is our core mission that drives all church activities.
In order to determine if we are fulfilling our mission to make disciples, we must have a clear definition of what exactly a disciple of Jesus Christ looks like. A disciple is one who is characterized by worshiping God, connecting with His people, and reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Worshiping, Connecting, and Reaching...WCR!
Sunday Morning Bible Studies
Sunday 9:45-10:45am
Our primary avenue for discipleship at WCR is Bible study small groups that meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. Here you will develop meaningful relationships that will encourage one another toward a closer personal devotion to God. No matter your age or life stage, we have a community of believers where you can grow deeper in the Word together.
Daily Quiet Times
August - July Program Year
WCR wants to offer a family-based discipleship program to assist families in having quality time in God's word together each day.
The Word of Life Quiet Time devotional guides believers in developing the habit of listening to God through daily Bible reading and application, as well as talking with God in prayer. The Quiet Time follows a 3-year reading plan that features every genre of Scripture, all the historical Bible books, and the entire New Testament. Our Kids, Students, and Adults will study the same passage each day, but their journal will be adapted to their age. We also have small group opportunities for all ages to expand on what they learned in their daily time in God's word.
